Project Joy offers ongoing workshops with the goal to strengthen and equip the family unit.

Effective Black Parenting

We are certified facilitators for the DCFS court-approved 12-week program, which is centered on cultural norms, and parenting styles and introduces new parenting tools and strategies for a healthy parent/child relationship. The program is rooted in cultural pride, and black history and promotes self-love.

Employment Support

We host job fairs in partnership with local agencies, schools and local hiring employers.

We have a growing network of local employers and vocational training partners who share our commitment to introducing youth to new and emerging career fields.

Industry certifications are available at no cost, as well as paid internships and job placement assistance.

Financial Wellness

Our financial support groups meet virtually or in person and reinforce skills such as SMART goals, budgeting, saving strategies, and homeownership. 

Black Maternal Health

We are the lead agency for the Black Maternal Alternative Care Alliance; a network of direct support, education and sisterhood to ensure a healthy and positive birthing experience and joyous first year of life (sponsored by UniHealth Foundation and LA Care GAAINS initiative).

Opening Doors / Abriendo Puertas

The mission of “Opening Doors / Abriendo Puertas” is to empower parents of children aged 0-5 with the knowledge and tools to support their educational success and overall development, fostering strong family engagement and leadership within the community.

The Fatherhood Program

The Fatherhood Program aims to provide education, support, and navigation tools for the prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum and parenting periods. The Fatherhood Program is to improve father’s knowledge that will directly impact on improving children’s quality of life by being actively present and proactive.

Recent Events

Backpack and school supplies to 100 foster youth and vulnerable families to support educational attainment (distribution at diaper event and SAGE Magnet Academy) – sponsor Big Sunday Org. Ongoing outreach and distribution during the global pandemic and recovery period are planned

Face Mask Distribution

Distributed over 200 mask to a area homeless shelters to promote the health and safety of vulnerable residents 

We provide virtual, hybrid, in-person learning events and workshops. (list of topics available). Large scale outreach event planning and execution to spread awareness of programs and services that align with our mission.
